Operations Trainee Position in Tulsa, OK

Position Highlights:

• Job Type: Full Time; Contract

• Location: Tulsa, OK

• Schedule: 1st Shift

• Pay Rate: $19.29 per hour

Role Overview:

As an Operations Trainee, you will be trained in the manufacturing processes of aircraft in a team environment. Under direct supervision, you will perform various structural assembly operations in a production department, including fitting of detail parts, drilling, and riveting.

Essential Functions:

1. Perform fitting of detail parts and basic drilling and riveting operations using basic mechanic hand tools (pneumatic drills, rivet gun, countersinks, reamers, and files).

2. Ensure parts and work content meet the instructions of assigned manufacturing employees and/or Quality Control Inspectors.

3. Learn to read work orders, blueprints, and specification sheets to determine the sequence of operations and work requirements.

4. Align and assemble parts to be riveted using holding fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners.

5. Observe and assist to become familiar with parts and assemblies, working with decreasing supervision as experience is gained.

Other Requirements:

• Must be able to read a scale and perform basic shop math.

• Read and comprehend basic documents and instructions.

• Essential personal skills include an aptitude for hands-on craftwork, a professional attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work with people and meet demanding schedules.

• Must demonstrate good housekeeping and safety practices.

• Proficiency in current personal computer-based software.

• Must be available to work any shift.

• Must be able to lift and transport objects up to 40 pounds.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with any manufacturing, small hand tools, and forklift operation is a plus.

• Entry-level exposure to composite layup is advantageous.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• Enrollment in a Technical Aviation program preferred.
