Bent's Old Fort National Historic Site is located in the high plains of southeastern Colorado at an elevation is 4,075 feet above sea level.
Summers are hot and dry with many days exceeding 100 degrees. Nighttime temperatures are comfortable. Winter temperatures are mild with averages around 40 degrees.
Precipitation averages 11.5 inches per year, including an average of 29 inches of snowfall. Snow typically melts within days.
La Junta, Colorado, located 8 miles west of Bent's Old Fort NHS, has a population of 6,800. Cost of living is considered low, with affordable housing for both sale and rent.
No park housing is available. The community of La Junta offers amenities such as schools (grades K-12), a college, and the area's largest medical facility.
La Junta also has a movie theater, a variety of restaurants, and several shopping options. Recreational opportunities can be found in the nearby Comanche National Grassland and John Martin Reservoir State Park.
Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site, located in Arkansas, is part of the National Park Service, within the Department of the Interior.
The 28-acre park is located two miles south of downtown Little Rock, the capital city of Arkansas. This park, established in 1998, interprets the heroic story of the Little Rock Nine, the struggle in Little Rock to maintain segregation, and the surging tide of the civil rights movement.
Located in King of Prussia, approximately 20 miles northwest of center city Philadelphia, Valley Forge National Historical Park is the site of the 1777-1778 winter encampment of General George Washington and the Continental Army.
The park receives 2.2 million visitors each year and contains about 3,500 acres of forested rolling hills, tall grass meadows, wetlands, and rough lawns.
Recreational and cultural opportunities are abundant, including museums, theaters, concerts, fishing, boating, hiking, etc.

Term Appointment
This is a term position (more than 1 year) with an initial appointment expecting to last at least 13 months but may be extended up to a total of four years, or more based on any changes to regulations governing the number of years term appointments may last, without further competition.
Term positions do not convey permanent status in the Federal service. The National Park Service retains the right to extend the duration of this appointment after selection and / or appointment, based on changes to the regulation governing the number of years term appointments may last.
This change, which may be made at the agency's sole discretion and without further competition, shall not be construed or interpreted as the granting of a right to a selectee or employee to such an extension.
No extension to a term appointment shall be granted to a selectee / employee to an amount of time that exceeds the maximum number of years authorized under any present or current regulation, unless such regulation expressly allows such action.

You will also submit a photocopy of your valid State issued driver's license prior to your first official motor vehicle operation, and again every year, or more frequently if management determines such need exists.

Qualifications
All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-03 / 08 / 2024-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement.
Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month / year), and the resume must reflect full and / or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.
e., work 40 hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience.
You must include months, years, and hours per week worked to receive credit for your work and / or volunteer experience.
One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as "varies".
To qualify for this position at the GS-7 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement :
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : I possess at least one year of specialized experience. Specialized experience is experience that equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to successfully perform the duties of this position.
Examples of qualifying specialized experience include the clerical or administrative work performing data entry, preparing reports, reviewing work orders, and using automated software systems for a facility maintenance program.
This experience must be equivalent to at least year of the GS-06 level in the federal service. You must include hours per week worked.
Volunteer Experience : Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.
g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
