We are a busy Internal Medicine group serving the Jamestown, NY area.

We are seeking a part-time office staff to join our team. A successful candidate must be able to handle a high-paced office, multi-task and must be able to greet and serve patients and their families with a friendly smile, compassion, and skill. MEDENT practice management software experience is preferred.

This position is responsible for billing claims and check out patients upon exit. All patient health Information must be handled in a confidential and proficient manner in accordance with state and federal privacy laws.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Log on and off software applications (both on local area network as well as the internet) in a secure manner and in accordance with company policies.
• Schedule and manage patient appointments (add, cancel, reschedule) by phone and in person.
• Look up patient information as appropriate, and verify insurance benefit eligibility.
• Collect and maintain patient insurance information as appropriate.
• Verify patient information, demographics, insurance information / eligibility, patient privacy preferences, etc.
• Collect patient co-insurance payments as applicable, whether cash, check, or debit/credit card, and balance daily.
• Scan, Print, and fax as necessary.
• Maintain a thorough knowledge and functions of the company phone system (hold, transfer, etc.)
• Maintain a thorough knowledge of the automated patient appointment reminder call system
• Communicate effectively with patients and staff.
• Conduct oneself in polite and courteous manner to co-workers and patients.
• Use triage communication in accordance with company protocols.
• Various other tasks as assigned by team leader and/or other management staff.
• We prefer at least 1 year of Medical Billing Experience but willing to train the right candidate.
• This candidate needs to be hard working and thrive in a fast paced environment, someone who works well in a team atmosphere, is able to multi task and provide excellent service to our patients.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 20 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• No weekends

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Work Location: In person
