    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Performs operational and compliance audits to evaluate internal controls. Responsible for coordinating and performing full scope audits that encompass financial, compliance and operational reviews for adequacy of internal controls systems in accordance with professional audit standards and in compliance with applicable state and federal guidelines. Provide a WOW experience to our internal and external customers.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

    • Manages Branch and Internal Auditors including review of work to ensure testing is complete and accurate, mentoring, and coaching team members to further their skills.

    • Assist with ensuring the annual audit schedule is completed on time.

    • Assist with managing master remediation tracking log to ensure findings are clearing timely and validate completion.

    • May conduct operational and compliance audits to determine whether controls and processes established by the Bank are adequate and effectively maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements and the Bank’s policies and procedures.

    • Identifies areas of potential improvement for key processes and procedures and supports the management of the related processes and procedures.

    • Works with different process owners on implementation, execution and compliance with entity level controls.

    • Recommends corrective action and suggests improvement as needed.

    • Prepares written internal audit reports, including findings, analyses, and conclusions.

    • Maintain proficient knowledge of the rules and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), USA Patriot Act, OFAC, Regulation E, Truth in Savings Act, Unfair, Deceptive or Abusive Acts or Practices (UDAAP), FACTA, Reg Z-Truth in Lending, Reg B-Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act

    • Responds to internal control questions from Bank personnel.

    • Manages and completes projects as assigned by the SVP Director of Internal Audit in a timely manner.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or equivalent related experience of at least 7 years within the banking industry.

    • Minimum 8 to 10 years of bank audit experience,

    • Knowledge of bank business processes, especially credit and risk management of consumer, commercial and mortgage loans.

    • Basic knowledge of all applicable Regulations that pertain to this position is required.

    • Knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering policies, procedures and related programs.

    • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person and over the phone.

    • Strong analytical, judgment and critical thinking skills.

    • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively work with individuals and groups at all organization levels; ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    • Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks; excellent time-management, problem-prevention and problem-solving skills.

    • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

    • Must be bondable.

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office Products and other Database software.
