Primary Position Objective
The Internal Auditor is responsible for validating deposit management and servicing operations are in compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and that internal policies and procedures are being followed. The Internal Auditor reviews and evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, identify and assess potential risks to AmeriNat (the “Company”) and makes recommendations to mitigate those risks. The Internal Auditor helps the Company accomplish objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes. The Internal Auditor will also lead responsibilities related to managing the status of state licenses related to activities of the Company.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Execute internal audit plans, procedures, and programs for the Company.
- Review and evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and recommend improvements where necessary.
- Identify and assess potential risks to the operations of the Company and make recommendations to mitigate those risks.
- Performs testing to assess remediation of previously identified issues.
- Conduct special investigations as needed, such as fraud investigations, and prepare reports of findings and recommendations for management.
- Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and report on progress to management.
- Work closely with external auditors to coordinate audit activities and ensure that audit requirements are met.
- Demonstrate basic knowledge in risk and controls and process/controls documentation.
- Document results of work in a manner that is clear, concise, and accurate.
- Maintain the confidentiality of information as required by law, policies, and procedures of the Company.
- Seek to obtain professional certification(s) and continue to develop and expand knowledge of the audit profession, regulatory issuances, our industry, and the Company products and information through self-study, research, and continuing education efforts.
- Manage NMLS licenses, statuses, and other relevant activities of the Company.
- Review and monitor NMLS site for exceptions or outstanding items and initiate appropriate follow-up through filing information and communicating as necessary with others in the Company.
- Provide training and guidance to staff members on audit or licensing related matters.
- Performs other duties & responsibilities as required or assigned by manager.

Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other financial area or equivalent experience.
- 1-3 years of compliance and/or audit experience.
- Ability to communicate with others with tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality.
- Ability to apply the following mathematical concepts to practical situations: fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
- Computer Knowledge - Good understanding of computer equipment, including desktops/laptops and printers/scanners.
- Strong comfort level with technology, including ability to adapt to new systems quickly and easily. Thorough knowledge of and comfort with the Microsoft office suite applications.

- Hearing - Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
- Repetitive Motion - Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Vision - Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products or operate machinery.
- Physical Strength - Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.
