417 is looking for a freelance Custom Publications Editor. This position manages, plans, and edits custom publications for clients while providing excellent customer service in a deadline-driven atmosphere. Additional duties include:

• Develop and maintain trusting relationships with custom publishing clients by serving as their main point of contact under the direction of the VP of Custom. Own the client experience with a delicate balance of charisma and assertiveness while always making them feel appreciated for being a part of our 417 family.
• Lead client meetings to discuss custom publication content and art ideas, issue planning, proofing and other project details.
• Complete and finalize a project timeline, editorial lineup and art plan for each custom publication issue. Discuss custom publication content and art ideas, issue planning and other project details with client.
• Top edit submitted custom publishing copy, Work with writers on revisions, Work with the freelance designer to execute art plans.
• Lead production editing for custom publications.
• Write and assign editorial content, completing story assignment letters (including deadline, focus, tone, content directions, sidebar instructions, web push instructions, art instructions and sourcing leads) to in-house or freelance writers.
