International Logistics Manager
The International Logistics Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating all import shipments into the USA and Canada and export shipments from the USA to Europe and Canada. This position will ensure full compliance with policies and regulations, 3rd PL, and Foreign Government Authorities. The International Logistics Manager will also be responsible for managing and supervising the International Logistics Team.
Essential Functions (Including but not limited to):
• Supervise, coach, and train the international logistic team.
• Strategically plan and manage the international logistic processes.
• Maintain good communications with all end users.
• Ensure accurate record retention of all shipments related documents.
• Responsible for the resolution of all transportation claims or issues.
• Maintain a database of international regulations per country.
• Prepare import/export documents to ensure compliance with the international regulations and requirements.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders on consolidation of shipments to maintain cost effectiveness without a reduction in service.
• Create KPI for our 3PL drayage carriers and maintain a database of rates and service.
• Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements.
• Manage and coordinate import shipments from US port to DC.
• Manage and coordinate all POE shipments.
• Maintain daily communication with freight carriers.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and ISO requirements.
• Perform any other duties as assigned in support of company needs and operations.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• BS in Business Administration, Logistics or Supply Chain and 5 years’ proven work experience as a Logistics Manager with 1 year managing two or more employees and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of international shipment terminology and a comprehensive understanding of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS)
• Expert-level understanding of Shipment mode (FCL, LCL), CBM, Service type (I.e., CFS/CFS, CFS/CY, CFS/SD, CY/CY, CY/SD), Incoterms.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to build relationships with clients and internal departments.
• Computer skills with ability to execute reports, analyze data, problem solve and present information with clarity
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office package to include Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced setting, multitask and prioritize in a deadline driven environment.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively under critical time frames and ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet deadlines.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment and ability to apply good work habits to effectively complete assigned tasks and contribute to the smooth operation of the company/department
Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000
