Job Summary:
The Controller supports the Chief Financial Officer in the analysis, evaluation and management of Accounting functions, financial reporting, cost reporting, forecasting/budgeting, financial planning and managed care contracting. The Controller serves as President of MHG and Physicians Corporation, a separately organized, non-profit, federally taxed corporation owned by MHG and by the physician members of the Corporation.

Job Description:

• Oversees Accounting functions, assuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, organizational policies and statutory requirements
  • Provides evaluation and oversight of Accounting functions, financial reporting, cost reporting, forecasting/budgeting, financial planning and managed care contracting
  • Reviews interim financial reporting to include month-end close and Board of Trustees financial report preparation
  • Monitors annual Medicare and external review audits
  • Assures compliance with regulatory agencies
• Leads the development, coordination and completion of the budget and financial planning process
  • Develops budget assumptions and projections in line with the organization's strategic goals
  • Prepares budget and financial planning presentations to the Board of Trustees and Administration
  • Provides financial modeling and analysis to support the development of strategic initiatives, business plans and service lines
  • Analyzes financial results on a scheduled basis through review of system generated reports and ad hoc system queries
  • Develops data into meaningful information and presents concise information with risks and recommendations to leadership
• Directs the business activities associated with MHG and Physicians Corporation and Board activities
  • Coordinates MHG and Physicians Corporation and Board activities, including Board of Directors and General Members meetings
  • Negotiates and executes corporate contracts with physicians, other providers and corporate customers
  • Performs analysis of new ventures and contracts; reviews and reports on results of engagements

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or other field of study.

Experience: Ten (10) years of progressive experience and responsibility in complex financial management for a hospital or healthcare system, as well as experience in cost accounting and developing and executing budgets.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: Master’s Degree in Business Administration.
