Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all company accounting practices, including accounting departments, preparing budgets, financial reports, tax and audit functions.
- Direct financial strategy, planning and forecasts; conferring with CEO, COO and the leadership team.
- Develop, implement and maintain accounting and administrative policies and procedures for a wide-ranging set of activities including financial accounting and reporting, employee relations (hiring/terminating policies) and other corporate policies.
- Proficiency in all aspects of corporate accounting and all pertinent GAAP, SEC rules and regulations including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
- Responsible for all corporate and human resource activities including employee benefits, retirement plans, corporate insurance and related activities. This includes the coordination of these activities with all satellite offices as well.
- Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, payroll, perpetual inventory integrity, fixed asset records, general & entity accounting, cost accounting, Human Resources, and Operations etc.
- Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, and advising management on needed actions.
- Develop and manage financial systems and policies
- Control and evaluation of the company's fundraising plans and capital structure
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the engineering industry.
- Proficient in GAAP, cost analysis, AP/AR, and tax compliance.
- Experience in developing and implementing accounting procedures.
- Proficient in using Netsuite or related software.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
- Ability to execute and follow-through to completion and documentation.
- Proven ability to lead with a high level of integrity and reliability.
