International Controller directs and develops the organization's international accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives. Ensures the preparation and analysis of all financial reports meet the needs of the organization and comply with all applicable regulations. Being an International Controller maintains an in-depth, and up to date knowledge and understanding of both US and international accounting principles. Advises management of potential changes in accounting regulations or practices that may impact international operations and reporting. Additionally, International Controller requires a bachelor's degree of accounting or finance. Typically reports to a CFO or top management. Typically requires CPA. The International Controller manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. PURPOSE AND SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Senior Controller, the position provides accounting support for monthly financial reporting working closely with the accounting team to deliver an accurate financial close in a timely manner.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILTIES
Prepares accurate and timely financial statements including income statements, cash flow statements and other financial reports
Responsible for establishing and maintaining strong controls to ensure accurate financial results
Collect and analyze data to assist management in operational decisions and performance benchmarks
Analyze transactions within the monthly margin and expenses with management
Prepare journal entries and document support for entries
Assist in the internal and external audit process
Participate in the monthly and annual general ledger closing process
Work with managers to process and prepare an annual budget to submit to the CFO
Performs other duties as assigned
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field. CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation is highly desirable.
Experience (4 years) in responsible accounting roles, with at least 2 years in a managerial position
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards and regulations, including GAAP
Understanding of financial close process and general business processes
Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
Must possess excellent organization, planning and problem solving and decision making skills
Proficient in the accounting data structure with attention to detail.
Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on Excel
