Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our team. As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the company, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. This is a key leadership role that requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate financial information to stakeholders.
Duties Included but not limited to:
- Manage and oversee all accounting operations including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger
- Perform account reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial records
- Prepare and analyze financial statements on a regular basis
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting activities
- Coordinate the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors
- Provide financial analysis and support for strategic decision-making
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and alignment of goals
- Stay updated on accounting regulations and industry best practices
Requirements:
- Previous experience in the Home Improvement Industry
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (Master's degree preferred)
- CPA or CMA certification is highly desirable
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations
- Proficient in financial report writing and analysis
- Experience with double-entry bookkeeping and corporate accounting
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software QuickBooks
- Ability to effectively communicate complex financial information
- Strong leadership abilities with the ability to mentor and develop a team
