Controller Responsibilities:

• Financial Oversight:

  · Manage and oversee the financial operations of the NYS 853 Program.

  · Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with NYS 853 regulations.

  · Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to maintain fiscal responsibility.

• Budgeting:

  · Collaborate with program managers to develop and monitor annual budgets.

  · Provide guidance on budgetary matters and work towards maximizing financial efficiency.

• Compliance:

  · Stay current on NYS 853 Program regulations and ensure the organization's financial practices adhere to these standards.

  · Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and address any findings

• Reporting:

  • · Generate financial reports for management and funding agencies.

    · Analyze financial data and present findings to support decision-making processes.

• Team Leadership:
  

  • · Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

    · Conduct regular training sessions to enhance staff knowledge of financial procedures and compliance.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

• · Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or relevant certification is preferred.
• · Proven experience as a Controller or similar role, preferably within a NYS 853 Program or a similar disability service organization.
• · In-depth knowledge of NYS 853 Program regulations and compliance requirements.
• · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
• · Proficient in financial management software and Microsoft Office Suite
