POSITION SUMMARY
Directs human resource activities of the organization to maximize strategic use of personnel. Maintains all confidential files and records, electronic or hard copy, by utilizing the current system or researching and recommending more effective systems.
Maintains regulatory compliance in all company policies and programs. Researches and keeps abreast of all impending legislation and changes in state and federal laws and cases to recommend, adjust or implement policy changes accordingly. Develops company policies and coordinates the communication of implemented policies to all personnel in a way in which the employees will understand.
Works with senior management on aligning or restructuring current staff to match the strategic plans. Working with each department manager, recruits, hires and develops employees in accordance with company objectives. Works with each department in maintaining system of employee-related applications and practices, including but not limited to, job analysis and position descriptions, performance evaluations, salary reviews, staff development, and succession planning. Directs preparation and distribution of written and verbal information to inform employees of all employment-related programs such as insurance plans, paid time off, bonus pay, performance appraisals and special employer sponsored activities. Analyzes existing benefits policies of organization and prevailing practices among similar organizations, to establish and maintain competitive benefits programs and ensure compliance with legal requirements. Develops and updates all new hire or developmental training. Oversees all payroll functions as directed by the company, either directly or indirectly, for US and Canada operations. Verifies that all tax payments and reporting functions are maintained. Verifies that all multi-state and multi-national registrations are current and maintained. Analyzes compensation policies of organization and prevailing practices among similar organizations, to establish competitive program and ensure compliance with legal requirements. Establishes and promotes the well-being of all personnel by acting as liaison between management and employees and as interpreter of the company policies. Works as Employee Relations manager for all progressive discipline or termination sessions, including but not limited to, preparation of documentation and actual interviews. Performs special projects as directed by supervisor or company officer. REQUIRED ATTRIBUTES
· Must have 3 – 5 years previous experience as a human resource generalist.
· Must be able to remain impartial and make recommendations based on facts and objectives, rather than judgment or personal beliefs.
· Must be able to voice concerns to highest level within the organization.
· Must be proficient in PC operations, database manipulation, spreadsheet development and report writing software.
· Must have strong verbal communication skills and be able to effectively communicate in written form.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
· Previous manufacturing background or exposure.
· PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
EQUIPMENT General office equipment, MS Office Suite software, internet-based operations, multi-extension phone system.
