International Program Manager
The Washington State Fruit Commission (WSFC) is looking to add an International Program Manager to its team in Yakima. The WSFC, a state agency, was established in 1947 and promotes Washington Stone Fruit in a way that creates opportunities for the highest possible returns for growers, and to assure and support the long-term viability of the industry. The team of 20 employees educate growers, retailers and consumers about production and benefits relative to tree fruit. With a vision to be the most effective commodity commission possible, in the eyes of their growers, this organization must facilitate greater returns to the land and the international marketing department plays a key role in that success.
Job Summary
The International Program Manager works closely with and reports to the Directorof International Operations. This position is responsible for all aspects of Foreign Agriculture Service (FAS) grant management and funding requirements. This position is also responsible for analyzing, researching, planning, communicating, and executing global marketing programs and activities to support business goals and long-term strategic direction of the Northwest Cherry Growers (NWCG) business.
Essential Job Responsibilities
· Comply with state and federal funding regulations, compose comprehensive annual reporting, budget, and research requirements for the Market Access Program (MAP), Unified Export Strategy Application (UES) programs, Country Process Report (CPR), and etc.
· Identify and pursue opportunities for new funding to maximize and broaden NWC prospects.
· Prepare and champion the grant application and management process.
· Implement and maintain grant awards and manage resulting projects, including associated budgets and deliverables, as necessary.
· Compile and create success stories, in-kind contribution reports, and progress reports to support grant programs and compliance.
· Compile statistics and publish the annual Foreign Market Statistics Report for industry reporting, lobbying and program funding.
· Support the planning, communications, and implementation of various global marketing campaigns, and monitor global budgets.
· Serve as point of contact for foreign contractor sales team in matters related to contractual policies, accounting regulations and budget oversight.
· Track and process all foreign department expenses and invoicing in compliance with federal regulations.
· Direct and engage research firm personnel to support projects, conduct research, analyze, and customize results.
· Travel to Washington D.C. annually to attend FAS seminars and meetings and enhance FAS and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) partnerships.
· Travel to several export markets annually.
· Assist with special projects, as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements
· 3 years of proposal writing experience required, experience with grant writing preferred.
· Bachelor’s degree required; communications, curriculum writing or related field preferred.
· Exceptional attention to detail with financial numbers, communication and writing skills.
· Must be proficient with MSFT 365 and an intermediate Excel proficiency is required.
· Excellent organizational, time management and project management skills to work independently and manage projects with many moving parts.
· Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective work systems and records.
· Ability and willingness to travel, approximately 10%.
