    Associations International (AI) is an association management company based in Lexington, KY, who partners with non-profit trade and career associations. Our job is to help those non-profits meet their mission and grow their membership through the work of our talented, dedicated team.


    The International Coaching Federation (ICF) is seeking a Senior Director of Sponsorships and Sales to join their dynamic team. The Senior Director of Sponsorships and Sales will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth, building strong relationships, and identifying corporate sponsorships. This position requires a dynamic individual with a keen understanding of sales strategy, and a passion for our organization's mission. The Senior Director of Sponsorships and Sales will report to the Vice President of Strategic Initiatives.  

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

    a.) Strategic Leadership: 

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with organizational goals to include corporate sponsorships, event sponsorships, online media ad sales, business solutions partner program, and other sales opportunities 
    • Build and provide visionary leadership and strategic oversight to the sales team. 
    • Collaborate with senior management to align sales efforts with overall mission and business objectives 
    • Coordinate closely with VP of Strategic Alliances and VP of Coaching in Organizations to align outreach opportunities 
    • Work with the technology staff concerning exhibitor/vendor registration, event staff concerning event logistics, and communications staff on exhibitor, sponsor, and advertiser sections of publications 
    • Perform other duties as assigned and assist with periodic special projects 

    b.) Relationship Building: 

    • Cultivate and nurture key relationships with potential clients, vendors, partners, and stakeholders 
    • Leverage industry knowledge to identify opportunities for collaboration and growth 
    • Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing, to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to sales.

    c.) Sponsorship Development: 

    • Identify and evaluate potential sponsors to enhance the organization's market presence 
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of outreach initiatives 
    • Serve as sales lead for key, strategic ICF vendor partners 
    • Stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and emerging opportunities within the professional coaching space. Develop relevant sales and market analyses to support decision-making for the organization 
    • Utilize market insights to tailor sales strategies and offerings to meet the changing needs of our clients (including the intersection of vendor and customer needs) 

    d.) Revenue Generation: 

    • Drive revenue growth through strategic sales/sponsorships initiatives and effective sales management 
    • Set and achieve ambitious sales targets, monitoring and adjusting strategies as needed 
    • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify new revenue streams 
    • Other duties as assigned

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

    • Bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years related professional sales experience and 3 years of managerial experience
    • Proven record of successful sales leadership and exceeding revenue targets
    • Strong understanding of conference sales opportunities and corporate sponsorships
    • Strong organizational skills, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
    • Experience managing a sales team and driving their success by prioritizing responsibilities and multiple projects, providing direction and coaching, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
    • Proficiency with CRM software, Microsoft Office, and related software
    • Ability to travel as needed
    • High energy, enthusiastic, motivational presentation style
    • Strategic and analytical thinking skills with the ability to balance the long-term objectives with day-to-day tactical realities
    • High degree of self-motivation along with ability to work autonomously to follow organizational guiding principles and practices
    • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and be flexible, managing multiple priorities simultaneously
    • Knowledge of the professional coaching and non-profit management industries are a plus
