International Trade Specialist is responsible for coordinating credit and financial activities and obtaining payments for import/export operations. Acts as an advisor on matters of tariffs, markets, and federal and foreign regulations. Being an International Trade Specialist ensures that all filings, documents, and regulatory reporting are completed accurately, in a timely manner, and according to trade laws. Keeps informed of international events and changes to laws and requirements that may impact operations. Additionally, International Trade Specialist may negotiate letters of credit or handle issues with international banks. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The International Trade Specialist gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Analyze and assess business development opportunities and ‘open the door’ to those opportunities.
- Help open the door to new companies offering First Article Inspection support.
- Speak to/qualify companies to be partners.
- Review and analyze related RFP’s and SOWs to determine feasibility.
- Perform market research for opportunities to determine win threshold.
- Create ‘must have’ experiences related to job specific requirements.
- Connect/communicate with key stakeholders in oil & gas, aviation, and other industries around the country for opportunities available.
- Serve as Point of Contact for some contracts ensuring all requirements are met to terms of the contract
- Bachelor’s degree
- Strong understanding of QA/QC, First Article Inspection, Supplier Quality Inspections, or willing to learn the concepts with minimal instruciton
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with service-based industries/contracts
- Ability to learn quickly new standards and concepts
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn, and serve in multiple roles with a dedication to overall progress of the company.
