What is an Accounts Payable Specialist?

The AP/Staff Accountant is responsible for overseeing all accounts payable activities and assisting the controller in maintaining the accounting and financial environment for the Division, including audit, reporting, and analysis tasks. This position would be part-time, anticipated 15-20 hours a week.

What are the responsibilities of an Accounts Payable Specialist?

• AP Invoice entry and dispute resolution

• Landed cost analysis and entry

• Dropship order receipts management

• Prepaid expenses entry, analysis, and reconciliation

• Intercompany reconciliation

• 3PL monitoring and analysis

• Weekly reporting on invoices received but not entered

• Answering accounting line customer calls

• Company credit card management and reconciliation

• OSHA Reporting

• Maintaining vendor relationships and generating vendor scorecards

• Tax analysis and entry

• Preparation of customer account reconciliations

• Coordinate month-end interdepartmental communication for outstanding close items

• Assist controller with audit requests

• Assist controller with overflow tasks as required

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting (Required)

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting (Preferred)

• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite

• Experience with Great Plains (Preferred)

Soft Skills:

• Exceptional communication skills

• Superior time management abilities
  

Compensation and Benefits:

• Starting wage: $19-21 per hour
  

Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8 am - 5 pm
