Interventional Radiological Technologist assists physicians in interventional procedures and provides diagnostic aid by conducting organ or body scans on patients. Administers and records isotope dosage in accordance with established departmental protocol. Being an Interventional Radiological Technologist observes patient during procedure and reports abnormal activity. Typically requires a bachelor's degree, at least 2 years of experience in radiology and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Additionally, Interventional Radiological Technologist typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. Interventional Radiological Technologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement.     • Schedule: Part time, 20 or 27 hrs/week, day shift (7am-3:30pm or 8am-4:30pm), every 5th weekend on call rotation and one night per week

    Perform diagnostic and interventional imaging procedures in a clinical setting. Operates conventional, fluoroscopic or radiology equipment to obtain images of designated body parts according to physician specifications and/or orders. Assists the physician with the performance of various diagnostic and interventional procedures, by monitoring, passing instruments and catheters, observing patient response to procedure, maintaining sterile field, interpreting and evaluating diagnostic data to be utilized by the physician.

     


    Qualifications

    Education:

    Associates degree in radiologic technology, allied health, applied science or completion of certificate/training program is required.

     

    Experience:

    Experience in interventional radiology or special procedures is preferred.

     

     

    Certifications, Licenses and Registrations:

    Licensed Radiographer in the state of practice is required 

     

    Certification as a Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography (RT(R)) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.

     

    Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
