Interventional Radiological Technologist assists physicians in interventional procedures and provides diagnostic aid by conducting organ or body scans on patients. Administers and records isotope dosage in accordance with established departmental protocol. Being an Interventional Radiological Technologist observes patient during procedure and reports abnormal activity. Typically requires a bachelor's degree, at least 2 years of experience in radiology and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Additionally, Interventional Radiological Technologist typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. Interventional Radiological Technologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. Will rotate to the various services of the Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology Center. The CV Radiology Technologist will participate in the on-call rotations of the department and be flexible in staffing to meet the needs of the department.
Education/Experience:
Must be a graduate of an Accredited School of Radiologic Technology. Will uphold the standards set down by the ARRT regarding diagnostic and interventional procedures and professional ethics.
Certification/License:
Current American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT), renewed
annually
BCLS Required ACLS Required
Massachusetts license renewed by-annually
Previous experience in Angiography preferred
