Interventional Radiological Technologist assists physicians in interventional procedures and provides diagnostic aid by conducting organ or body scans on patients. Administers and records isotope dosage in accordance with established departmental protocol. Being an Interventional Radiological Technologist observes patient during procedure and reports abnormal activity. Typically requires a bachelor's degree, at least 2 years of experience in radiology and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Additionally, Interventional Radiological Technologist typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. Interventional Radiological Technologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. The Department of Radiology is seeking an Interventional Radiologist for its high volume, high complexity IR service. The section performs a large volume of procedures of all ranges and complexity, where capable proceduralists contribute significantly to patient care. Optimal candidates should have (2- 5) years IR experience with an interest in image guided therapy research and development. Lahey Hospital & Medical Center operates a nationally renowned Transplant Institute, has comprehensive cancer services, is a Level 1 trauma center and a referral center for complex Pancreatic , Colon and Rectal, Urologic, Cardiac and Orthopedic surgical services.
