Interventional Radiological Technologist assists physicians in interventional procedures and provides diagnostic aid by conducting organ or body scans on patients. Administers and records isotope dosage in accordance with established departmental protocol. Being an Interventional Radiological Technologist observes patient during procedure and reports abnormal activity. Typically requires a bachelor's degree, at least 2 years of experience in radiology and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Additionally, Interventional Radiological Technologist typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. Interventional Radiological Technologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement.   • The McLeskey Comprehensive Breast Center, part of Brock Cancer Center and Sentara Leigh Hospital, is hiring a Full-Time Mammography/Interventional Technologist.

    Position and Department Overview:

    • Performs ordered mammograms, including diagnostic mammograms.
    • Assists the Radiologist and surgeons with special procedures, including stereotactic and ultrasound guided biopsies.

    The McLeskey Comprehensive Breast Center is among an elite group designated as an American College of Radiology Breast Imaging Center of Excellence. After rigorous evaluation, our center is NAPBC accredited in the three major areas of breast imaging and cancer detection: mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy and ultrasound-guided biopsy.     Required Education:

    Trade School Graduate - Radiologic Technology

    Licenses and Certifications:

    • ARRT
    • Basic Life Support

    Required Experience:

    • 1 year experience in invasive mammography diagnostic, and/or mammography interventional/Breast Ultrasound procedures
