Interventional Radiological Technologist jobs in Rockford, IL
Interventional Radiological Technologist assists physicians in interventional procedures and provides diagnostic aid by conducting organ or body scans on patients. Administers and records isotope dosage in accordance with established departmental protocol. Being an Interventional Radiological Technologist observes patient during procedure and reports abnormal activity. Typically requires a bachelor's degree, at least 2 years of experience in radiology and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Additionally, Interventional Radiological Technologist typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. Interventional Radiological Technologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of a licensed radiological technologist, assists in providing direct care for a select group of patients. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental philosophy and objectives, as well as, Health System initiatives.
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Must be currently enrolled in an approved Radiological Technologist Program and a senior/second year student. Must have at least a 3.0 GPA.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
Annual BLS certification required.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Successful completion of annual clinical, age and job specific competencies and skill verification tools required. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Good interpersonal, organizational and critical decision-making skills required. Ability to establish effective working relationships and clearly and calmly communicate in English both verbally and in writing with patients, medical staff and the public.
