Interventional Radiological Technologist assists physicians in interventional procedures and provides diagnostic aid by conducting organ or body scans on patients. Administers and records isotope dosage in accordance with established departmental protocol. Being an Interventional Radiological Technologist observes patient during procedure and reports abnormal activity. Typically requires a bachelor's degree, at least 2 years of experience in radiology and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Additionally, Interventional Radiological Technologist typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. Position Summary
Assists the physician in the performance of interventional radiological procedures, which include the use of sterile gowning and technique, and/or circulating in the operating room to operate all equipment necessary to provide imaging and patient care during the procedure.
Primary Position Responsibilities
1.Scrub in and assist the physician tableside during an interventional (surgical) procedure.
2.Circulate within the procedure room to operate all equipment necessary to perform the procedure.
3.Position the patient, select radiation exposure parameters, and acquire diagnostic images.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Sciences preferred

ARRT Registry in Radiography and Interventional Radiography or registry-eligible and NJDEP Xray License. Current CPR/BLS certification for Health Care Providers
