Interventional Radiological Technologist assists physicians in interventional procedures and provides diagnostic aid by conducting organ or body scans on patients. Administers and records isotope dosage in accordance with established departmental protocol. Being an Interventional Radiological Technologist observes patient during procedure and reports abnormal activity. Typically requires a bachelor's degree, at least 2 years of experience in radiology and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Additionally, Interventional Radiological Technologist typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. Interventional Radiological Technologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. POSITION PURPOSE:
Utilizes independent judgment to perform a variety of interventional procedures with a knowledge and ability to apply a prescribed amount of radiation for the purpose of obtaining diagnostic quality images by adhering to all department, organizational policies, procedures and standards. Responsible for patient /customer service satisfaction

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Graduate of a two-year program in an AMA accredited school of radiologic technology. Able to read, write and speak English.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
1 year experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred with OR experience required.
PROFESSIONAL LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:
ARRT Registered
Licensed Radiologic Technologist by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
CPR BLS Certified
