The Sr. Operations Specialist is responsible for evaluating, implementing, and supporting manufacturing processes and technology to improve new manufacturing processes and technologies supporting new product development and legacy OEM production. This will involve assessing current and future manufacturing technologies (i.e. machine platforms, automation for cellular layouts, etc.), and providing feedback to the cross-functional Research & Development and Value Stream teams. This position is critical in helping Resolve Surgical Technologies maximize the amount of patients served while maintaining a high level of quality and safety.       

Responsibilities: 

• Design for manufacturability, including developing machine programs and process controls to ensure design specifications are met. 
• Work cross-functionally with manufacturing (Value Streams) throughout the new product development process to ensure design transfer to production is successful. 
• Provide support to manufacturing (Value Streams) for trouble shooting and continuous improvement to improve predictability and throughput.  
• Technical SME on machine platforms, automation needs for a given NPD project.  
• Technical lead on assessments for manufacturing layouts for equipment, tooling, fixturing, and gaging for in-process monitoring of process specifications. 
• Interpret GD&T specifications on prints and inspection sheets to provide input of design for manufacturability. 
• Work closely with Process and Manufacturing Engineers to meet COGS targets throughout development phases.  
• Collaborate with cross-functional core team (design, process, quality, and procurement) on developing lean manufacturing processes to meet organizational goals.  
• Develop Poke Yoke systems and creating Standard Work documents for production training. 
• Develop simulated CAM programming to determine design runtime estimates. 
• Approve and assist with creation and implementation of production machine programs. 
• Implement and support the use of tool monitoring and adaptive control systems and software to optimize tool life and minimize operator intervention. 
• Assist with installation, relocation, and layout of new or existing equipment & tooling. 
• Evaluate and coordinate the design for customized tooling to optimize manufacturing processes. 
• Aid in conceptual design and development of turn-key solutions for machining centers. 
• Lead in developing optimal CAM software and posts for production equipment to maintain efficiency and standardization. 
• Support the implementation of lean manufacturing techniques (e.g., Standardized work, 5S, Production Leveling, Point of Use, Kanban, SMED, Kaizen, SPC) within the assigned department. 

• Support quality initiatives to improve first pass yield, reduce NC as well as scrap reduction 
• Assist in evaluating consumable tooling expenses and developing/maintaining cost per unit calculations to reduce tooling expense

Education/Experience Required:  

• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or related discipline preferred. 
• 8 years in programming, setup, and operation of CNC equipment. 
• 3 years in NPD launch and/or Legacy OEM Production Revisions. 
• Advanced knowledge of GD&T, Solid Modeling, and CAD systems 
• Fundamental understanding of manufacturing practices/processes. 
• Fundamental understanding of LEAN Manufacturing, Six Sigma, DMAIC, and the Kaizen Process.
