Intranet Applications Specialist, Sr. - Web develops, implements, and maintains web-based application systems for an organization. Troubleshoots issues with existing or developed systems, and works with the appropriate resources to resolve them. Being an Intranet Applications Specialist, Sr. - Web may require a bachelor's degree in a related area and at least 4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field (i.e., HTML, Java, etc.). Additionally, Intranet Applications Specialist, Sr. - Web relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks.     PRIMARY PURPOSE:
    To design, develop, and /or support existing computer applications for the district’s departments and campuses in order to assist staff with more efficient and effective data management.


    QUALIFICATIONS:
    Education/Certification:
    TEA certification requirements
    Bachelor’s Degree in technology related field required
    Master’s Degree preferred
    Special Knowledge and Skills:
    Strong working knowledge of and familiarity with computer hardware/software, and Internet applications
    Strong working knowledge with the Application Development Life Cycle
    Strong working knowledge of and familiarity with programming techniques,
    database concepts, and data structures
    Experience developing Microsoft ASP.NET applications
    Working knowledge of graphics formats
    Knowledge of online streaming video technologies
    Knowledge of online scripting toolsets
    Ability to develop and incorporate a variety of formats including audio, video, and motion
    graphics into application design
    Effective oral and written communication and presentation skills
    Strong personal and organizational skills
    Ability to learn new hardware and software with minimum of training
    Experience:
    Three years experience in computer use or related field
    Experience in conducting computer training preferred


    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
    ? Designs and develops computer applications for special programs in order to increase efficiency.
    ? Provides phone and on-site technical support to all staff utilizing the applications developed.
    ? Conducts initial and follow-up training related to the computer applications developed.
    ? Provides technology solutions whenever appropriate to more effectively implement the District’s improvement plan goals.
    ? Assists and provides input to the individual departments in the production of efficient program management applications and creates applications that enhance the instructional and administrative management functions.
    ? Compiles, maintains and writes proper documentation related to the applications developed.
    ? Assists the Curriculum Specialist in working with the Benchmark data and runs reports, and assessments as needed.
    ? Assists the Evaluation Department staff with district wide assessment information and reports.
    ? Maintains knowledge that is current on computer training, emerging technologies and instructional strategies

    for technology.
    ? Observes professional and ethical work standards and keeps security sensitive information confidential.
    ? Stays informed of federal and state laws and guidelines related to technology.
    ? Performs all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or to others.
    ? Performs other related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor (primary evaluator).
