Intranet Applications Specialist, Sr. - Web develops, implements, and maintains web-based application systems for an organization. Troubleshoots issues with existing or developed systems, and works with the appropriate resources to resolve them. Being an Intranet Applications Specialist, Sr. - Web may require a bachelor's degree in a related area and at least 4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field (i.e., HTML, Java, etc.). Additionally, Intranet Applications Specialist, Sr. - Web relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. Web and Digital Services Specialist

  • Supports the Web Services Manager and the Communications team to maintain and improve the content of STA’s web properties, digital signage and the customer notification platform. Coordination of efforts between employees from other departments and contracted vendors is key to successfully fulfilling the duties of the position. Position reports to the Web Services Manager and collaborates with multiple positions across multiple departments.

    Ideal Candidate has Knowledge of:

    • Data processing and managing large amounts of web content
    • HTML/CSS and SEO fundamentals
    • Elements & principles of design, and competency with equipment used in graphic art
    • Pertinent federal, state and local codes, laws and regulations
    • Methods, techniques and equipment used in graphic arts design, operation of a computer with various programs; photographic principles and practices; and design principles.

    Examples of Duties:

    • Maintains the users’ interfaces to STA’s website and microsites. Establishes pointers from other relevant sites and web search sites. Provides technical support for problem resolution.
    • Provides web site template and mockup design and enforces template standards for STA website.
    • Working with contracted web development partners, creates multi-layered web site mock-ups to communicate graphic vision internally and externally.
    • Responsible for uploading and editing online content, updating and proofreading.
    • Maintains digital style guide to ensure consistency across all channels.
    • Maintains a content calendar to plan and track production and execution of necessary digital content updates.
    • Verifies compliance of customer facing digital media with the ADA and other federal state and local laws and regulations.
    • Coordinates the build of online training tools for content creators with vendors and management.
    • Develops, in conjunction with vendors and management, training calendars for content creators. Provides support for other content creators as needed, to include one-on-one training sessions.
    • Uploads and schedules content for digital signage.
    • Works with vendors and management to ensure validity of web and digital signage content.
    • Investigates customer comments about web or digital signage content to improve the customer experience.
    • Investigates issues related to the delivery of customer notifications to improve the platform and ensure timely delivery of notifications.
    • Creates, schedules and posts manual notifications to customers through digital signage, text messages and email, and other channels.
    • Works with Communications Team to maintains an online searchable graphic, video and message database for STA.
    • Assists all members of the Communications and Customer Service department with all activities as needed.

    Training & Experience
    Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a business, public administration, or communications discipline and at least 1 year experience developing digital web content in a results-oriented and fast-paced environment. Experience may substitute for the education requirement on a year for year basis.

    Physical Requirements
    Primary functions require sufficient physical ability to work in an office setting; stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; operate office equipment including extensive use of a computer keyboard; push, pull, lift, and/or carry light amounts of weight. Vision sufficient to see in the normal visual range with or without correction; to read computer screens and printed documents; and to operate assigned equipment. Hearing capabilities in the normal audio range with or without correction. Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to perform repetitive motions of wrist, hands and/or fingers.

    Computer Skills
    Experience within the Microsoft environment, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, and Web CMS systems, preferably WordPress and Elementor. Ability to learn new software programs with minimal formal training.
