    Job Summary and Mission 

    This job contributes to the Shaw Bakers success by tracking, reviewing, and balancing fiscal responsibilities of inventory in the supply chain. Models and acts in accordance with Shaw Bakers guiding principles. Performs daily, weekly, and monthly inventory counts and reconciliations. Communicates inventory discrepancies to manager, purchasing, and via systematic reports and tools. Research and review inventory discrepancies for errors and identify solutions with manager, warehouse, and purchasing for improved inventory tracking.

    Summary of Key Responsibilities 

    Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: 

    - Physically count inventory daily and track discrepancies and adjustments.

    - Review counts and adjustments vs documented inventory and review inventory gaps with leadership teams.

    - Reviews FIFO/FEFO adherence by verifying code dating during inventory counts. 

    - Creates and generates reports and performance analyses of KPIs, including out-of-stock, days of supply, aging inventories, and other analyses to facilitate inventory review.

    - Collaborates with finance, purchasing, warehouse and production to resolve discrepancies between system documented on hand inventory and physical inventory counts.

    - Measures variances between inventory forecasts and actual demand, analyzes cause and effect, recommends corrective action, and publishes results.

    - Must notify management of any potential food safety or quality issue.

    - The Inventory Control Specialist must understand their involvement in Food Safety. They commit themselves to follow and adhere to GMP and Food Safety practices to comply with SQF and regulatory requirements.

    Basic Qualifications 

    Basic Qualifications are objective, non-comparative, and relevant requirements essential to performing a role anywhere in the company. Examples include minimum educational requirement or specific degrees, certifications, minimum number of years of experience in a similar role with similar scope or level of responsibility, experience with core technology tools or platforms such as Microsoft Office, equivalent military experience, etc. 

    - Education:  Desirable high school diploma or its equivalent.

    - Equipment/Software Skills: Computer skills (ERP software preferred).

    - Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:  Class C Driver’s License with a clean DMV record.

    - Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift to 50 lbs.

    - Language Requirements: Spanish (preferred but not required).

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

    - Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing

    - Attention to detail.

    - Advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Excel

    - Basic knowledge of cost accounting and inventory processes and procedures

    - Ability to drive for closure on issues that prevent supply meeting demand.

    - Ability to use presentation skills to pass information and to gain consensus across warehouse and production teams for consistent and improved inventory practices.

    - Ability to implement World Class warehousing and inventory practices to improve inventory accuracy.
