Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an Inventory Control Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Job Purpose: 

    We are in search of full-time 1st shift Inventory Control Specialist for our Charlotte, North Carolina facility. Our 1st shift hours are Monday – Friday 5:45am to 2:15pm and occasional SaturdaysIn this role, you’ll be responsible for providing exceptional service to all Big Rock Sports customers by processing orders and handling product in a safe and efficient manner.  

    Duties and responsibilities

    • Perform counts, both planned and prioritized, to ensure all inventory is accounted for and reported according to company policy
    • Manage cycle counts of product inventories on a regular basis
    • Investigate and correct discrepancies in reported quantities and locations of warehouse inventory
    • Perform dimensioning activities with product during the receiving process, and ad-hoc warehouse bin locations, to verify accuracy of units of measure and product dimensions for item each and case quantities
    • Perform planned and ad-hoc audits of process adherence and/or department-specific quality control auditing.
    • Log exceptions for review and corrective action with Management team
    • Assist operations team with managing inventory storage capacity through planned moves of inventory by class, velocity, and cube 
    • Lead others in safe work practices, especially when in a distribution center environment
    • Assist management team with planning and execution of physical inventories, as needed
    • Coordinate with customer service, finance and/or distribution departments to verify inventory for problem solving of customer orders and receipts
    • Check date-sensitive products for expiration and facilitate removal, transfer or rotation of product as needed
    • Train other employees in inventory management and control strategies 
    • Establish trusted relationships with internal and external customers to ensure quality service and cost-effective deals

    Qualifications

    • 18 years or older. 
    • Successful completion of criminal background check and drug testing
    • High school diploma or GED or an equivalent combination of related experience, training, and/or education
    • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment (limited heat or air conditioning)
    • Minimum of one-year distribution center experience is a plus in Inventory Control
    • Able to use pallet jacks (manual and electric)
    • Able to drive reach truck, cherry order picker
    • Experience with a Warehouse Management System (WMS) preferred
    • Effective communication skills, including the ability to read and write legibly and to understand and carry out oral and written instructions
    • English language fluency a must
    • Excellent math skills, analytical skills 
    • Attention to detail 
    • Experience with Excel or Word.
    • Ability to work overtime, including occasional Saturdays
    • Complete understanding of safety and risk management 

    Physical requirements

    • Must be able to perform work that involves standing, walking, and bending for a minimum of eight hours. 
    • Able to continuously lift or push to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
    • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment
