Inventory Control Supervisor supervises inventory control operations and teams according to established policies. Follows standard procedures that maximize inventory management efficiency. Being an Inventory Control Supervisor assists with inventory planning, scheduling, forecasting, and control operations. Utilizes Inventory tools and systems for tracking, analysis, auditing, and reporting. Additionally, Inventory Control Supervisor collaborates with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to implement and support initiatives to optimize inventory capabilities using best inventory management practices. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Inventory Control Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an Inventory Control Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.   • PURPOSE Under general supervision, monitors accuracy of inventory information and adjusts inventory records based on physical verification and computer research. Maintains inventory system quantities and costs on an ongoing basis. Consistently demonstrates the highest level of ethical conduct when dealing with customers, team members and management. Every BFS team member is expected to pledge to keep the customer first and foremost regardless of their job.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES · Cycle counts all areas of the store. · Research inventory discrepancies. · Understands the “larger picture” and uses this broader perspective to constructively challenge, within the organization’s guidelines, the usual ways of seeing things. (Innovative Thinking) · Must wear radio and apparel to help with customers while on floor. · Constantly & consistently train all associates (Supervisors, Leads, Floor Associates) of good inventory/ordering processes. · Oversee that overstock is consistently being worked by all associates. · Educate floor associates with double facings – needed or not needed while assisting with holes throughout the store. · Proficient in store technology. · Proficient in doing Vendor ordering and receiving. · Constantly analyze inventory to adjust min/max’s and barcodes. · Over-see all E-commerce transactions. · Establish priorities on a sound and rational basis and is aware of prioritizing and establishing timelines. (Maturity & Judgement) · Assume job ownership for all operational and service standards and advises fellow management when something isn’t working properly – always offering solutions to problems. · Take time to communicate professionally with team members, customers and management while maintaining a positive attitude to create a positive learning experience– focuses attention on the person, does not interrupt, or jump to conclusion. (Communication, People Focused) · Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attends periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures. · Other duties may be assigned.   SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities.   MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and one (1) year related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.   COMPETENCIES • Strong data entry skills • Ability to read and communicate verbally and in writing. • Working knowledge of material acquisition and inventory processes • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form. • Basic mathematical skills • Ability to compose effective and efficient reports. • Exhibit proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and an enterprise resource planning (ERP) program   WORK ENVIRONMENT I PHYSICAL ACTIVITY The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
