Inventory Control Supervisor supervises inventory control operations and teams according to established policies. Follows standard procedures that maximize inventory management efficiency. Being an Inventory Control Supervisor assists with inventory planning, scheduling, forecasting, and control operations. Utilizes Inventory tools and systems for tracking, analysis, auditing, and reporting. Additionally, Inventory Control Supervisor collaborates with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to implement and support initiatives to optimize inventory capabilities using best inventory management practices. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Inventory Control Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an Inventory Control Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     The Inventory Control Specialist will maintain the organization’s inventory, ordering and supplying necessary items while maintaining accurate records of all procurements.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • None.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Maintains consistent stock of inventory, works with purchasing to identify items needing to be ordered to stock up to pre-authorized limit as inventory dwindles.
    • Working with purchasing to establishes and maintains backup source for high-demand items.
    • Working with purchasing assesses inventory reports and order patterns to identify items in need of automatic, recurring delivery.
    • Works with other teams including sales, shipping, purchasing, and accounting.
    • Ensures that inventory counts are completed regularly and in a timely manner.
    • Provides inventory reports to purchasing and accounting as needed.
    • Develops and maintains good working relationships with vendors.
    • Maintains accurate daily records of goods received and shipments made. Along with inventory transfer and movements
    • Manages and maintains inventory system; facilitates upgrades to related database and/or software under the direction of the purchasing or accounting.
    • Conducts frequent spot and partial audits of physical inventory.
    • Assists with periodic (at least annual) physical inventory audits.
    • Checks in all products arriving to the facility against purchase orders issued
    • Operates forklift truck when necessary.
    • Performs other related duties as requested.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Excellent communication skills with warehouse workers, purchasing department, and outside vendors.
    • Basic understanding of inventory control procedures.
    • Proficient keyboarding skills.
    • Extremely organized and able to work with minimum supervision.
    • Ability to develop professional relationships with outside vendors.
    • Ability to perform basic math calculations.

    Education and Experience:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Experience with computerized inventory systems required.
    • Forklift operator certification preferred.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Prolonged periods of standing on concrete floors
    • Must be able to lift 40 pounds at times.
    • Must be able to navigate warehouse and reach items both high and low.

    Work Environment:

    Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
