Inventory Control Supervisor supervises inventory control operations and teams according to established policies. Follows standard procedures that maximize inventory management efficiency. Being an Inventory Control Supervisor assists with inventory planning, scheduling, forecasting, and control operations. Utilizes Inventory tools and systems for tracking, analysis, auditing, and reporting. Additionally, Inventory Control Supervisor collaborates with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to implement and support initiatives to optimize inventory capabilities using best inventory management practices. POSITION SUMMARY:
Under supervision, research transactions and exceptions to devise root cause and assist team on providing a resolution. Also help maintain inventory levels and product quality by performing essential clerical functions in a timely manner, including records compilation and retention, computer updates and requisition preparation. This provides the division with up-to-date inventory records to ensure efficient shipping and a high confidence in customer product.
To ensure the balance on hand of all items in the warehouse are accurate by utilizing Cycle Count application to complete Stock Counts as needed and to ensure the products counted have been rotated and are in date for AF Wendling customers. Also, may provide clerical and administrative support to warehouse management. Work both individually and as a team committing to a positive work culture.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform product cycle counts and investigate discrepancies to provide resolution
Prevent and resolve issues related to shipping and receiving errors
Completes Physical Counts within specified time requirements
Review rotation and sell by dates on items as Stock Counts are completed. Pull all OOD items. Report on-going issues to supervisor.
Facilitate excellent communication skills between warehouse, purchasing and accounting, phone and email.
Perform full range of Inventory Reclass/Transfer functions.
Identify products in inventory database; Identify code dates on products
Evaluate, verify, and process Driver returned products
Move and stage pallet loads with material handling equipment
Adhere to Company standards for Safety, product handling and Food Safety.
Work in multiple environments, including office as well as ambient, refrigerated, and frozen storage areas.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures
Assist warehouse with replenishment issues.
Perform all other warehouse related duties as needed
Responsible for salvage/ damage recoups
Assist inventory control supervisor with purchasing activities such as order stocks, short supply, inconsistent buying and out of stocks
Process credited adjustments while utilizing accurate reason codes.
Works closely with all departments regarding merchandise received, new items, all inventories to assure a continuous flow of information.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
HS Diploma or equivalent,
Proven ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Must have very strong urgency in meeting objectives and deadlines.
Requires the ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form.
Ability to complete tasks under standardized situations with occasional variables.
Physical Requirements:
Physical ability to lift, carry, and position: up to 20 lbs. regularly, up to 50 lbs. frequently, and up to 80 lbs. occasionally.
Must be able to constantly bend, reach above shoulder, grasp objects, climb, kneel, squat, twist and stand throughout shift.
Must be able to push/pull up to 150 lbs. occasionally
Confident and comfortable operating equipment at heights up to 30 feet
Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools, or controls.
Working in multiple environments including office and ambient refrigeration and freezer areas
Work Environment:
Work hours may vary, or change based on department requirements.
The job is primarily performed in a warehouse environment
Regularly exposed to fast moving material handling and other mechanical equipment.
Occasionally exposed to wet and or humid conditions, high and precarious places, vehicle emissions, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions and high voltage electrical equipment.
The noise level in the work environment is typically low.
