Inventory Control Supervisor supervises inventory control operations and teams according to established policies. Follows standard procedures that maximize inventory management efficiency. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an Inventory Control Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     The Supervisor, Inventory Control is accountable for inventory of finished goods and the execution of Inventory Control processes and procedures in National Operations. This position involves effectively and efficiently directing processes aimed at inventory best practices including relating to cycle counting, annual inventory audit preparation/execution, and inventory financial reporting.

    WHAT YOU’LL DO

    ***

    Inventory Operations

    • Ensure transaction related to inventory discrepancies (internal or customer reported shortages/overages) are investigated
    • Initiate the inventory adjustment process, provide justification, and obtain approvals for large variances from the management team
    • Execute formalized inventory procedures and generate detailed cycle counts in order to provide measurable inventory results, facilitate root cause investigation, and develop solutions to improve inventory accuracy
    • Ensure the warehouse management system to SAP system is accurate, monitor and report on any unexpected results found in analysis, and investigate root cause for any discrepancies and work with cross functional team members to resolve
    • Maintain optimal storage of product to meet operational needs
    • Identify scrap or transfer opportunities to optimize and balance inventory among business divisions and distribution facilities
    • Review receiving activities to ensure accurate inventory receipt and put away and report discrepancies to appropriate personnel following up where necessary to correct
    • Maintain and review reports for items shipped short to the end customers, determine root cause analysis, and assist with implementation of solutions
    • Monitor and report any shipments which do not post goods issue and report to appropriate personnel for direction and disposition

    Reporting and Analysis

    • Provide and review KPI measurements for Absolute Inventory Accuracy Percentage, Location Accuracy Percentage, and Cycle Count Progress
    • Provide updates to those KPIs on a weekly basis to the Supply Chain Operations management team and on a monthly basis to Finance management team, as well as having a dotted line to the Senior Manager of Operations.
    • Perform analysis which highlights opportunities to reduce aged and excess inventory

    Education

    • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, Statistics, Finance or other related field

    Experience

    • Minimum 7 years of inventory process management experience analyzing complex data and working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced distribution operations environment

    Software/Technical Skills

    • Warehouse Management System Knowledge
    • SAP Inventory Control module

    Other Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

    • Knowledge of warehouse and distribution to include Receiving, Inventory Control, and Shipping processes
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with all levels of the organization as well as professionally represent the company to outside parties
    • Ability to foster and build relationships with direct reports and cross-functional team members throughout the organization and engage with customers in a professional, business-like manner
    • Ability to effectively explain and interpret organizational policies and procedures
    • Superb skills in problem solving and critical thinking with attention to detail and follow-up

    • The salary (or hiring) range for this position is $60,000 - $70,000 per year
    • Starting salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location, and alignment with market data
    • This position is eligible to participate in the relevant Brother variable pay incentive plan(s). Applicable bonus awards are discretionary and contingent upon 1) achievement of your individual objectives and 2) Brother achieving its corporate and business-level objectives
