Inventory Control Supervisor supervises inventory control operations and teams according to established policies. Follows standard procedures that maximize inventory management efficiency. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Inventory Control Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an Inventory Control Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.   • Responsible for implementation of the WMS and CSS (Chain Store System) and Supply Chain Management (SCM) systems as related to inventory issues. Such issues include coordinating and processing clerk activities and supervising union clerical employees, implementation of the and CSS (Chain Store System) and Supply Chain Management (SCM) systems as related to inventory issues. Such issues include slotting, discontinued items, stock rotation and quality.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The individual must have the ability to perform the responsibilities listed below. The list is not all inclusive of duties that may be requested by the department head or a member of upper management but are intended for an understanding of the purpose of the position. It is the responsibility of each individual at AWG to provide ultimate customer service to our members to support their efforts in increasing same store sales and profits.

    Maintain a good knowledge of all Data Processing Systems that affect the warehouse in any way, which would include billing systems, purchasing systems, accounting and auditing.
    Meet with WRAPS clerks on a daily basis to coordinate their activities.
    Process and distribute all count documents for inventory WRAPS clerks.
    Maintain daily and weekly inventory reports and research inventory adjustment issues. Keypunch all adjustments.
    Evaluate any warehouse changes which will make the warehouse more productive and cost efficient.
    Investigate all concerns involving the warehouse inventory, inventory rotation, and quality control.
    Work with purchasing departments to keep them informed of any warehouse conditions that will affect them. Also, keep buyers informed of space available for merchandise.
    Slot all new items into the facility.
    Be involved in warehouse projects, including new racking and seasonal candy.
    Support and ensure adherence to Company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
    Ensure compliance with all legislated and required health and safety procedures. Maintain a safe and healthful work environment.
    Work as a member of the AWG team so the total job responsibilities are met. Actions must always stress a sense of cooperation, integrity, tact and consideration with our members, associates and division management.
    This position requires strong communication and computer skills with the ability to use and learn new technology. Management will be kept informed on planning, analysis, work performed and results. All records required by management must be complete, accurate and submitted on time.
    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Degree or equivalent; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and speak fluent English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Possess the ability to read and interpret departmental financial and operating statements, policy and procedure manuals. Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

    REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform a full range of motion for arms, legs, neck and back requiring strength and endurance; stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle pinch grip grasp or feel objects, tools or controls reach with hands and arms sometimes overhead or to areas of limited access and including a full reach of 84' climb or balance bend or twist and turn stoop, squat kneel crouch or crawl, see talk or hear and task or smell.

    The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
