Analyzes investment opportunities and recommends investments as appropriate. Being an Investment Analyst may help to evaluate stock investment and major projects for high-level analysis. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Investment Analyst typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Investment Analyst contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Position Purpose Under occasional supervision, responsible for the execution and administration of various investment portfolio management and accounting functions. Performs investment portfolio analysis projects, serves as the technical resource for investment applications and generally supports all investment related functions. Principal Duties & Responsibilities Complete various accounting tasks (both GAAP and Statutory) related to investment portfolios. Assist in preparation of quarterly filings, quarterly reports to the Board of Directors, and rating agency requests as necessary. Ensure data integrity between various investment related systems including but not limited to: CAMRA, Singularity, Bloomberg, FactSet, and S&P Capital IQ. Assist in various investor relations reporting duties. Identifies and recommends process improvements and cost savings opportunities. Performs special projects and data analytics as needed. Education & Experience Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field 2 years of experience [OR] equivalent level of education and experience Knowledge, Skills, & Competencies Prior experience with fixed income securities and portfolio management/accounting preferred. Strong aptitude with Microsoft Excel. Prior experience with CAMRA, Bloomberg, FactSet, S&P Capital IQ or similar applications preferred. Ability to use analytical methods to solve problems and find creative yet workable solutions. Ability to communicate findings and recommendations to management on matters of investments, cash management, or forecasts. Ability to use financial software to summarize and analyze large amounts of data.
