As the GA Investment Analyst, you will be mainly focused on collaborating between general account and Securian AM investment team to ensure clear communication on investment strategies, data analysis, reporting. You will also serve as the coordinator working closely with Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and portfolio managers to carry out broader Securian Asset Management initiatives such as Board level presentations, quarterly results meetings, rating agency presentations, etc.

Responsibilities include:

• Collaborate closely with CIO, PMs, analysts to provide timely updates to SFG key stakeholders on general account portfolio, such as weekly market update newsletters
• Lead and design key presentation efforts across a broad range of areas, such as presentations for investment committee, risk council, rating agencies, earnings
• Coordinate across key business partners to carry out targeted projects and initiatives including: credit watch, sale and impairment process, earnings hot topics, performance scorecards
• Take up primary coverage of 1-2 corporate sectors (~30 investable names across IG and BB space)
• Assign and update company thesis, internal rating, earnings, credit designations
• Conduct ongoing industry analysis, assess fundamental and relative value views of covered sectors and companies.
• Collaborate across Securian Asset Management on other firm wide initiatives and projects

• Three years experience in insurance general account investment management
• Strong strategic, analytical skills with in-depth knowledge of insurance investment portfolio
• Extraordinary project management, organization skills with a solutions focused mentality
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Proven teamwork and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Tableau, Bloomberg, Excel, PPT

• Some knowledge of ESG and impact investing
• Advanced degree in Finance, business, such as MBA
• CFA Charterholder or in process towards

• Ability to utilize the keyboard, computer and/or mouse for up to 8 hours per day
• Ability to work at least 40 hours per week
• Ability to utilize the phone and/or virtual meeting platform for 1-4 hours per day
