  • D&N Machining is hiring for a Programming Engineering Manager in the Fort Smith, AR market. The primary mission of the position is driving continued growth by assisting engineering and operations in verifying cycle times, returning quotes, determining work holdings, submitting PPAP’s, and completing RCA’s in a timely manner. The position is also responsible for reducing cycle time by evaluating older programs that exceed the original estimate. The position is expected to work with operations and sales on increasing gross margins and profitability while maintaining quality and on-time delivery.

    As the Programming Engineering Manager you will:
    • Assist the sales manager on technical reviews with customers
    • Work with the engineering team to ensure quotes are replied to within 1 week.
    • Verify machined cycle times before quotes are submitted
    • Participate in a weekly quote review meeting between sales and engineering
    • Investigate programs and work holdings when a job misses the estimated cycle time.
    • Partake in weekly production meeting to ensure schedule is being followed
    • Identify, select, and procure appropriate cutting tools for the job specific application
    • Identify and make or purchase the necessary fixturing for new jobs.
    • Create and edit CNC programs that support the machining of complex, tight tolerance, parts fabricated on multiple-axis CNC milling, turning and mill-turn machining centers
    • Ensure PPAP and sample jobs are delivered on time and to specification.
    • Manage onboarding new projects from receipt of PPAP PO through delivery
    • Find pricing on unique and difficult materials
    • Verify correct material was quoted when pricing is received
    • Complete RCA and communicate findings to the Quality Manager
    • Verify tooling is received on time for new projects
    • Report, present, and surpass weekly KPI meeting to ensure on time delivery, efficiency, productivity, and safety targets are being met


    In order to be successful in the role you must possess:
    • 4-year technical or engineering degree.
    • 5 Years of programming experience
    • Ability to program and machine complex and high-tolerance components
    • Well-versed in reading blueprints
    • Customer-facing experience and the ability to cultivate strong internal relationships
    • Calm demeanor and immediate team player
    • Meticulous attention to detail
    • Preferred: Proficient in SolidWorks and/or Esprit
    • Microsoft Outlook and Excel literate
