MORTGAGE INVESTOR ACCOUNTANT

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the reconciliation of all Investor P&I and T&I accounts.  Acts as back-up for remitting and reporting for Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, Federal Home Loan Bank and other private investors.  Performs higher-level tasks of the department as assigned by the Mortgage Servicing Manager. 

DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:

• Responsible for the balancing of all P&I and T&I custodial accounts (including identifying all variances within each cycle).
• Assists with and acts as backup for the following functions of FHLMC, FNMA and FHLBI: set up funding and FASB on core system, process daily, and month end reporting, and remits funds as required.
• Responsible for staying well informed of any new investor or regulatory type changes in servicing.  Obtains material and training to disseminate to the team. 
• Responsible for all servicing aspects of the wholesale lending division, including investor funding, and any interim servicing.
• Monitor and resolve issues and establish appropriate controls for loan accounting.
• Assist with balancing and reconciling other loan and fee related accounts as needed.
• Monitor GSE and private investor payoffs
• Checks on-line systems daily for error reports.
• Reports Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae delinquencies and foreclosure sales on-line.
• Coordinates and assists with the implementation of any new software, upgrades and automation within the Loan Operations area.
• Becomes skilled with data extraction and report writing from our core system, and processes multiple loan accounting reports.
• Actively identifies process improvements opportunities and assists with developing solutions.
• Adheres to all Federal and State laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act.
• Performs a variety of other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND QAULIFICATIONS:

• Degree in finance, accounting or related field required
• Three to five years of experience in loan accounting and mortgage servicing
• Knowledge of ICE (f/k/a Black Knight) systems preferred
• Advance knowledge of, and the ability to apply financial and accounting principles
• Strong excel skills (minimum intermediate level)
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills
• Highly motivated, forward thinking
