Function: Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the VP, Finance & Investor Relations is primarily responsible for developing, implementing, and executing company strategies, tactics, objectives, and resource plans for communication with investors, creditors, investment banks, and external analysts.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a key advisor to the executive leadership team and company Board of Directors to build an effective investor communications strategy to attract and retain desired investors

Partner with finance, legal, operations, and other functions as necessary to prepare key external disclosures and communications, including (but not limited to) earnings releases, earnings call scripts, proxy statements, ESG reports, investor presentations, and creditor communications

Direct and execute quarterly earnings presentation process, including preparation, materials, tele/video conference service providers, and post-release 1:1 meetings with analysts and top investors

Attend investor roadshows and conferences, either virtually or in-person, to communicate appropriate company messages and answer questions in a manner consistently and in compliance with disclosure regulations

Communicate directly with investors and analysts on press releases, news events, conference participation, and publicly disclosed business events

Prepare reports and presentations for investors, creditors, external analysts, and internal company management including the Board of Directors

Proactively develop relationships with coverage analysts, both buy and sell-side, and major investors to communicate company messaging and answer questions

Advise, guide, and participate on any capital markets activity to sell shares, refinance existing debt, or raise new capital

Monitor industry reports, peer performance, and macroeconomic conditions to understand impact on the company or potential questions from external parties

Manage the relationships with external financial institutions regarding any class of common stock, including (but not limited to) Nasdaq, Computershare, FINRA, and IHS Markit

Manage the relationships with external banking institutions, underwriters, rating agencies, etc. regarding credit facilities or debt offerings as required

Assist with financial and strategic valuation of potential mergers and acquisitions, expanding efforts into financial due diligence as required

Review and edit public disclosures and SEC filings to ensure consistency, credibility, and fulsome management discussion and analysis is presented

Additional investor relations and financial responsibilities as assigned

Superior communication skills, including public speaking or presenting to large audiences

Minimum 10 years of investor relations (public company), equity analysis, or investment banking experience

Strong understanding and working knowledge of capital markets and financial instruments

Strong understanding of SEC and SOX regulations and reporting requirements

Excellent organizational skills

Ability to work independently and manage up

Strong understanding of valuation methods and financial modeling

Expert Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint computer skills

This position is based in the Nashville, Tennessee area with company headquarters in Portland, Tennessee (approximately 35 miles north of downtown Nashville). The preference would be for the successful candidate to relocate to the area, but remote candidates will be considered.
