Investor Relations Manager oversees communication and nurtures relationship with shareholders. Handles shareholder requests for information. Being an Investor Relations Manager plans the annual meeting and meeting documents, such as the annual report and the proxy statement, in accordance with SEC regulations. Supervises and directs subordinates staff. Additionally, Investor Relations Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Investor Relations Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. A member of the News and Media Relations team and reporting to the Director of Media Relations within University Communications and Marketing (UCM), Manager assumes regular and substantial contact with the public, media and members of the University community. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Strong communications, writing and administrative skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple demands and/or projects simultaneously, make decisions, and follow up proactively in a dynamic environment and troubleshoot problems as they arise.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and relationship management skills.
- The ability to collaborate strategically with colleagues across departments in order to reach communications goals and objectives.
- The ability and willingness to be assertive in meeting the goals of the department in making media placements.
- The acumen to match institutional strengths with prevailing trends in communications in order to showcase the University.
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays if required.
Required Education and/or Experience- A Bachelor's Degree in communications, journalism or related field.
- 3 years of related professional experience in public relations or journalism.
Preferred Qualifications- An Advanced Degree in journalism or related communications field.
- Established network of media contacts.
- Short-form videography and video editing skills.
