DEPARTMENT: Head Start PROGRAM: CFDP

The Janitor is responsible for maintaining the center facility in good, clean appearance and order. S/he is also responsible for complying with the applicable Head Start/Early Head Start Performance Standards.

• Demonstrate competency in all five areas of NEKCA's Core Values. Demonstrate respect for all NEKCA clients, the choices they make and the challenges they face.
• Maintain facility in good physical appearance 
• Wash or vacuum bathroom and classroom floors daily 
• Clean toilet facilities daily 
• Empty trash daily 
• Vacuum/mop office space and parents’ space weekly and to empty trash daily 
• Clean garbage receptacles weekly 
• Wash center equipment (i.e. tables, chairs, toys, cribs, etc.) weekly 
• Wash 3-5 center equipment as necessary 
• Clean woodwork, walls and windows as necessary 
• Carry out any additional state sanitation requirements 
• All other duties deemed necessary by your supervisor or CFDP Assistant Director

Requirements

• Must comply with NEKCA policies if hired.
• Staff will be required to authorize and pass NEKCA’s criminal record check process
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team 
• Interest in and support for the CFDP program 
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
