Janitorial Supervisor supervises the cleaning and maintenance of buildings/facilities. Trains and supervises the custodial staff to maintain an orderly, safe, and efficient cleaning operation. Being a Janitorial Supervisor orders, stocks and replenishes supplies, and provides the tools and equipment needed to perform required maintenance. May require a high school diploma. Additionally, Janitorial Supervisor typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Has no authority for staff actions. Generally has a minimum of 2 years experience as an individual contributor. - Attend monthly Safety Meetings and deliver Safety Training to employees.
- Conduct Site Safety / Quality Inspections (Equipment, MSDS, PPE, etc.) ensuring that PPEs are worn at all times and that other protective measures are being taken.
- Monitor staff attendance and report absences.
- Collect Timecards.
- Manage and track inventory of supplies, and making sure supplies are being ordered in a timely manner.
- Communicate with Management regarding promotions, transfers, dismissals, and other employee relations matters.
- Other projects as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:- Bilingual preferred.
- Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used in maintenance and janitorial work.
- Must have excellent internal and external customer service skills.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to lead others and motivate people.
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team; an intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills.
- Microsoft Office skills, i.e., Excel, Word plus Gmail, Google docs, Google calendar.
