POSITION TITLE: Direct Services Job Developer
REPORTS TO: Direct Services Manager
POSITIONS SUPERVISED: None
SUMMARY: Assisting People on the states Developmental Disabilities Waiver to obtain meaningful employment.
Assists in development and implementation of work related Action Plans/ Action Steps/ and Strategies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Provide direct care services to individuals of all ages and levels of need.
2. Maintain the health and safety of one or more individuals at one time, while providing services either in group or individual settings.
3. Advocate for and support all individuals served and their families in accordance with service standards and regulations.
4. Assist the individual's efforts to engage in meaningful and positive interactions with others.
5. Provide individuals the opportunity for progress toward outcomes in accordance with their ISP (Individual Service Plan) or care plan.
6. Demonstrate participation and initiative in all of the program's daily activities/services.
7. Communicate progress of services or barriers to the provision of services with Service Coordinator(s) or management.
8. Complete required forms, reports and documentation in a timely manner and in accordance with service standards and regulations.
9. Attend individual's service planning meetings as needed.
10. Provide or assist individuals being served with transportation needs.
11. Participate in professional meetings as required.
12. Complete and maintain training requirements per service standards and regulations.
13. Display ethical behavior at all times.
14. Maintain confidentiality of individuals, families, and coworkers.
15. Display a professional and positive attitude towards individuals and their caregivers.
16. Display a professional and positive attitude towards coworkers and supervisors.
17. Remain compliant with applicable service standards and regulations governing services provided.
18. Remain compliant with Zia Therapy Center, Inc. policies and procedures.
19. Observe all appropriate safety guidelines.

21. Support strategies implemented in individual's specific therapy plan(s) and/or behavioral support plan.
22. Work with and provide assistance to other staff while working within group setting.
Job Developer Tasks
23. Approach businesses to discover possible positions for individuals.
24. Effectively communicate with employers about how to support the individual to success.
25. Adhere to company/ employer dress codes.
26. Adhere to rules of the specific work place, including confidentiality, safety rules and other areas required by the employer.
27. Communicate in a business-like, respectful manner, whether in person, on the phone, in writing, with all company employees and management.
28. Maintain ongoing communication with various levels of the company to assure satisfaction to both the individual and the company.
29. Direct employer concerns to the individual (employee) in a manner that the individual understands.
30. Assist the supervisor and co-workers to build a meaningful relationship with the individual.
31. Assist the employer with understanding they are employing the individual and not the job coach.
32. Conduct discovery process with each individual served seeking employment.
33. Assist individuals in creating resumes and/or completing work applications.
34. Assist individuals to complete the DVR process.

EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING REQUIRED: High school diploma/GED required.
Training will be provided at Zia Therapy center, or off-site depending on the availability of classes and will need to be finished in a timely manner as the classes become available.
Complete certification for Association for Community Rehabilitation Educators (ACRE) Complete the WISE Discovery Process training
Complete all Department of Health - Developmental Disabilities Supports Division required trainings for Direct Service Professionals within the first year of hire.
Maintain certification in First Aid/CPR
Obtain and complete training with the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation - DVR process LEGAL REQUIREMENTS: All employees driving Zia clients are required to comply with Zia's automobile insurance carrier's requirements.

WORK EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: One year of experience working with people having developmental disabilities. Working effectively individually or in a fast-paced team environment.
