    Job Description

    TMC Technologies is searching for a qualified and passionate JAVA developer to support the NASA Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) Systems/Software Assurance Services 2 (SAS2) contract.  TMC supports NASA's IV&V Program, delivering analysis and verification & validation of safety-critical and mission-critical software for several important NASA programs, including both human and robotic exploration as well as earth and space science collection platforms. The JAVA developer will participate in source code analysis using both static analysis tools and manual methods to identify potential defects that could negatively affect mission success. Additionally test procedure analysis will be performed to ensure adequate code coverage during developer testing. The software being analyzed provides user interface functionality for ground system mission operators on critical NASA missions.

    THIS IS A HYBRID REMOTE POSITION - 2 DAYS PER WEEK ON-SITE ARE REQUIRED

    Job Requirements

    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field

    5  years of Java user interface development

    Experience with development or analysis of complex, safety-critical software systems

    Experience across the software development life cycle (requirements, design, implementation, and test) and the entry and exit criteria associated with Program/Project milestone reviews

    Familiarity with software architectures and systems & software engineering practices

    Excellent verbal and written English language skills, good communication skills

    Ability and desire to interact in group meeting/working environments with team members, development organizations and customers

    Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

    U.S. Citizen with eligibility for a security clearance

     

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    Experience performing software quality, reliability, safety, V&V, and testing activities related to mission critical software systems

    Familiarity with Agile software development processes

    Familiarity in working within JIRA/Confluence environments
