Coordinates and performs complex system design and development tasks, developing system design and development documentation for use in the coding and testing of the applications.
Ensures proper programming techniques, system documentation standards, and guidelines are followed in accordance to the requirements.
Makes recommendations to create or modify programming techniques, system documentation standards, and guidelines.
Application development can include IMS/vs database, COBOL, CICS, Datacom, DB2, Easytrieve Plus, Roscoe, TSO, Microsoft Office Projects, and MS Access.
Performs or oversees unit, integration, acceptance, and regression testing to verify that system components function correctly and meet requirements.
Resolve technical issues through efficient and targeted debugging, research and investigation.

This is a mainframe developer that will be working on a legacy system that is over 40 years old. It comes with complexity and a lot of bolt ons, so it will be important for the resource to have experience with working on legacy systems and to have the ability to troubleshoot code in detail
The two systems they will be supporting are mission critical systems, payroll and timekeeping, and allow for paying employees.
