Jig and Fixture Builder assembles a variety of standard and non-standard major jigs, fixtures and related tooling. Ensures jigs function appropriately with complex angles or contours. Being a Jig and Fixture Builder is responsible for determining methods and sequence of operations and scheduling work to be performed from tool design drawings. Designs and creates jig and fixture details and holding devices. Additionally, Jig and Fixture Builder may be required to verify accuracy and quality in accordance with established control procedures. Requires a high school diploma in a related area with certification in the field. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Jig and Fixture Builder works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Apprentice Die Builder
Hanson International is currently seeking candidates for our 2024 class of apprentices. Hanson International works in cooperation with Lake Michigan College and the Hanson Technology Center to offer students the opportunity to serve in our long-standing, highly regarded apprenticeship program.
Apprentices learn alongside journeyman to machine, fit, assemble and troubleshoot the components that make up our molds. Apprentices begin by learning the fundamentals of machining and craftsmanship, and end their apprenticeship ready to excel in the world of advanced manufacturing at Hanson International.
