Establishes and maintains working relationships with employers, industry organizations, and public agencies to source job openings and secure employment and vocational training opportunities for clients. Being a Job Developer evaluates individual's background, skills, and interest and matches to potential job openings or training programs. Coaches and prepares candidate for interview and entry into the workforce. Additionally, Job Developer may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. Position Summary:
Create and implement the Work-Based-Learning program consisting of both on-campus and off campus opportunities for students falling within the guidelines of the Career Development and Occupational Studies (COOS) Universal Foundation Skills template. Collaborate with the Job Coach in building and maintaining positive working relationships with community outlets for volunteer and employment opportunities. Track hours, efficiency, and behaviors of all student workers during their assigned work times. Collaborate with the student support team in
developing a transition plan for exiting students. Develop a transition/post-secondary plan for each student by completing career interest inventories, career plans, transition plans, and
vocational assessments on a yearly basis. Update Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with career goals and career-related progress monitoring goals.
Primary Duties & Essential Functions:
The COOS Coordinator/Job Developer Position includes the following responsibilities:
• Job Development -both internal and community based.
• Oversight and approval of work-based learning hours (WBL).
• Counsel students in job search skills for the purpose of informing them of employment and career options:
• Monitor student performance in a variety of work sites according to program guidelines for the purpose of identifying area requiring additional training on techniques and methods for maintaining solid work habits.
Participate in a variety of meetings, workshops and committees for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions and remaining knowledgeable of program guidelines. These include CSE yearly reviews, presentations to school staff, and any administrative meetings that may arise that require attendance.
• Prepare a variety of documents, reports and written materials for the purpose of communicating information to parents and staff, providing written support, developing recommendations.
• Transports students for the purpose of assisting them in preparing for community-based work opportunities, testing, interviews, and obtaining proper documentation to meet program objectives.
• Work with students and teachers in the development of Employability Profiles and Career oriented IBP requirements such as Exit Summaries, Academic plebs, measurable postsecondary goals, and progress monitoring.
• Work with transition planning and support agencies including but not limited to Access-VR, OMH, OPWDD.
• Serve as a liaison between tl1e Vanderheyden School and The Vandy thrift store shadowing student workers, working with the marketing team on special events, leading operations at the Career Center sorting center, and transporting merchandise and supplies between the campus and store.
• Supervise the secondary Job Coach(es) on staff- provide a schedule for day-to-day operations, guide individual(s) 011 CDOS goals and requirements, assist in community work-based learning opportunity development, and conduct evaluations and timecard management as needed.
• Full operation of The Vanderheyden Bakery -The Cookie Jar- Supply orders, menu development, working with marketing team on promotion, day-to-day operations,

This position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a solid understanding of the New York State Education Department regulations surrounding the Career and Occupational Studies Commencement Credential.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to forge positive, purposeful relationships with students, staff and employers for the purpose of maintaining and expanding job opportunities and assuring the acquisition of the CDOS credential for all eligible students.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in human services or related field,
Preferred experience in education, vocational support or related field.
Pay: $25.00 Per Hour
