May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department.     The District Sales and Operations Manager will drive profitable sales results through the development of high performance selling and design store teams within the district.  Achieve Kitchen & Bath Store sales, gross margin and store development goals while delivering a customer experience worthy of the Kitchen & Bath Store brand.  This position can sit it Eau Claire or La Crosse, WI or Minneapolis, MN.

    Responsibilities

    • Drive sales and gross profit results by creating an environment of exceptional selling, innovative design and a quality brand experience in all locations.
    • Establish clear performance expectations with goals and objectives for all measureable results, including but not limited to; Store and individual sales, gross profit, average transaction size, sales team productivity, Client relationships, scheduling and staffing, wages and expense management.
    • Regularly analyze and reforecast; district, store, and individual sales results to ensure maximization of sales, gross margin and overall profitability goals. Develop appropriate action plans to maximize opportunities and course correct as necessary.
    • Provide recognition and coaching to your teams that reinforce positive behaviors and results, and hold team accountable for unacceptable results
    • Travel to stores regularly to coach Kitchen & Bath Store selling and sales leadership behaviors to both in store and outside sales teams.
    • Drive a continuous improvement culture where all selling programs and processes, in store experiences and operations are evaluated and upgraded to meet the ever changing customer and business needs.
    • Recruit, attract, develop, retain and inspire a selling focused, result driven district team utilizing the Kitchen & Bath Store company tools and resources.
    • Build appropriate succession plan for all store positions, which would include both internal and external talent bench strength.
    • Be a visible and impactful leader in the industry.
    • Train all store managers and teams on the company’s expected standard operating policies and procedures.  
    • Complete all necessary and appropriate store checklists and audits to ensure compliance to all Kitchen & Bath Store Standard Operating procedures, Human Resource policies and performance management processes.
    • Ensure stores maintain high quality, inspirational, spotless and current product and display presentations throughout the store
    • Develop and daily manage the annual operating sales and expense budget for the all of the stores in the district
    • Assist Kitchen & Bath Store Marketing team with marketing functions for store to include all forms of advertising media and special events Coordinate special events sponsored by store
    • Work without outside vendors to coordinate product presentation, associate training, and marketing events
    • Be active in local community and business related organizations representing the Kitchen & Bath Store brand.
    • Develop and deliver and direct all store education programs and strategies such as talent development, business acumen, selling and service, product presentation and product knowledge, loss prevention and standard operating polices to all store teams.
    • Work in close partnership with all corporate teams as needed to maximize business opportunities
    • Manage and Coordinate special internal events as needed
    • Other duties/responsibilities as assigned and as necessary to run the business

    Qualifications

    • 5 - 10 years related experience in multi-unit specialty retail environment
    • Proven track record of successful sales, profit and talent development
    • Bachelor or associate degree required; advanced degree preferred
    • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, decision making and planning and organizational skills
    • Previous experience managing staff in a retail environment
    • Business and financial acumen including previous budgetary responsibility and P&L responsibility
    • Exceptional customer service skills
    • Proficient computer knowledge and skills, particularly with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
    • Ability to work a variable schedule meeting the needs of the business
    • Satisfactory score on Caliper Assessment
    • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs, and spend a significant time standing and walking
    • Ability to travel extensively without restriction to meet the demands of the business
    • Valid driver’s license, driving record meeting underwriting standards and reliable vehicle with insurance at required level
