The LAN Administrator is accountable and responsible 24 hours a day for managing and demonstrating leadership skills in the systems management of voice and data networks. These activities should ensure appropriate outcomes and efficient, effective team processes, guiding activities of the area, including but not limited to the PC support, communications systems, and LAN/WAN hardware/software systems and wireless system.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors Degree in related field or technical degree in networking.
Licensure: N/A
Experience: Five (5) or more years in a position installing, upgrading, troubleshooting and repairing all types of computer hardware with five (5) or more years hands-on experience, installing and managing an enterprise-wide fiber-optic backbone. Hands on experience with TCP/IP, Internet, Token Ring, Routers, Bridges, Gateways, Hubs, Bay Networks Synoptics, Multiple Display, Modems, Muxs, Virtual Switches, Minicomputers, Printers, Cabling, WAN links, Network sniffers, VOIP and wireless.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Understanding of network infrastructures, operating system: network security and network configurations. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Understanding of TCP/IP and non TCP/IP network protocols, wireless networks and security, Wep, WAP, TKIP and any other related wireless network security.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Network training, CISCO certified or any other certification, military training.
Licensure: N/A
Experience: Hospital Communication and LAN systems. Supervisory, management.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Ability to use Microsoft Applications. Policy/procedure development and training skills.
