Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Labor Relations Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Executive Director of Community Relations plays a pivotal role in fostering strong relationships between the Greater Green Bay YMCA and its surrounding communities. Reporting directly to the CEO, this position is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to engage and collaborate with various stakeholders including community leaders, local businesses, government agencies, and other nonprofit organizations.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    • Develop and execute comprehensive community relations strategies aligned with the organization's mission and goals.
    • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with community leaders, stakeholders, and partner organizations to enhance the organization's visibility and impact.
    • Serve as liaison with Board of Directors to connect them with opportunities to deepen the impact of the YMCA. Maintain positive relations with Board alumni.
    • Represent the organization at community events, meetings, and public forums to promote awareness of our programs and initiatives.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure effective communication and alignment of community relations efforts with overall organizational objectives.
    • Identify opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships, and collaborations that support the organization's mission and increase community engagement.
    • Collaborate with Marketing as it relates to outreach materials, including press releases, newsletters, social media content, and promotional materials, to effectively communicate with the community.
    • Collaborate with People Operations to support the organization's volunteer program to support community outreach efforts.
    • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of community relations initiatives and provide regular reports to the President/CEO and Board of Directors.
    • Stay informed about community issues, trends, and developments that may impact the organization's work, and proactively identify opportunities to address them.
    • Act according to facility protocol to ensure safety of all staff and children which includes:
      • Adhere to policies related to boundaries with staff and children.
      • Attend required abuse risk management training.
      • Report suspicious and inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
      • Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.
      • Follow employees and volunteers screening requirements and use screening tools to screen for abuse risk.
      • Communicate to all employees and volunteers the organization’s commitment to protect children from abuse.
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Human Resources, or Communications, is required.
    • 5 years of experience leading teams and/or complex projects, with significant decision making ability.
    • Proven track record of strategic leadership and planning, with experience in non-profit leadership a plus.
    • Ability to deliver the YMCA brand to a wide variety of audiences, including community members,
